The tragic accident occurred on the road to the municipality of Florida on Friday, shortly after 7:00 PM, when two Yutong buses collided on the Western Bypass of Camagüey, near the boarding point on the road heading west.

One was a Transmetro operating under the leasing system that ran from Songo La Maya, Santiago de Cuba, and the other transported workers from a Military Construction Unit.
