A Cuban man in Miami arrested for threatening his neighbors with a gun

The 32-year-old Cuban threatened his neighbors after a parking dispute. He is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A Cuban resident in Miami was arrested for threatening his neighbors with a firearm after a dispute over a parking space in the condominium where he lives.

The incident occurred at the Palm Apartments condominium, located at 10th Street and 44th Avenue, in the northwest of the city.

Jorge Márquez, 32 years old, knocked on his neighbor's window to ask him to move his car from the parking space.

"The victim came down from the apartment, moved the car, but it seems he didn't move it enough to please the arrested individual, and they start to argue. During that argument, there are witnesses trying to separate them, and the arrested person pulls out a gun and says he is going to shoot not only him but everyone," reported Mike Vega, spokesperson for the Miami Police, to América TeVe.

One of the witnesses tried to intervene, and in the midst of the fight, he fell to the ground and was injured.

"By pulling out a gun and making a threat, a person is now committing a felony," added Mike Vega.

Márquez appeared in court on Wednesday, where he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The judge set a bail amount of $5,000 and issued a restraining order.

"In such cases, they would have to move until they appear before a judge and the victim says they do not feel in danger," the officer clarified.

Residents of the housing complex expressed concerns about the increase in conflicts related to parking issues.
