The boxer Gustavo “Cuban Assassin” Trujillo publicly declared that he has achieved a legal victory against the influencer Alexander Otaola, in a judicial process that took place in a court in the Miami District.

“Otaola lost the lawsuit in court. (...) The worst thing he did was get involved with Trujillo. I am Elegguá every day, and the most beautiful thing is that now I am stepping up to the plate,” Trujillo stated on Wednesday, warning the communicator to get ready for the next legal battle, as Trujillo has an active lawsuit against the Cuban presenter.

On his part, Otaola did not take long to react to the court ruling. During the airing of his show Hola Otaola on June 11, he explained that the lawsuit has been dismissed by the judge due to issues with the translation of the evidence presented.

"The case has been closed by a judge in the District of Miami. Evidence was submitted that was not translated, and the judge requested it be reviewed. My lawyers requested an extension, but now the judge has determined that the case will be closed permanently and without the possibility of being reopened. We respect this decision, but we are going to appeal. We will take this case to trial by jury if necessary," Otaola stated.

The origins of the conflict: A group lawsuit

This legal dispute dates back to late 2024, when Alexander Otaola announced a series of lawsuits during an episode of his show El Mañanero, accompanied by his lawyers from the VPP Law Firm.

On that occasion, the Cuban influencer revealed a list of those accused of alleged defamation, which included Gustavo Trujillo, content creator Yolanda Capote (from Analogías de Lola), the YouTuber known as Toscano, and Clara Cabrera.

Otaola stated that all the complaints were related to accusations of defamation and the impact on his sponsors. He said he had enough evidence to support his claims, but did not provide specific details, although he did assure that more similar cases would follow.

The case of the class action lawsuit appears to have been the first one dismissed by the court, now opening a new phase in this confrontation, where boxer Gustavo Trujillo will feel like the plaintiff against Otaola.
