The Cuban reggaeton artist El Micha was spotted this Thursday on the streets of Havana mingling with fans, ahead of his highly anticipated concert at the Malecón, which caused a stir on social media.
Dressed entirely in black and wearing his signature cap, the artist appeared approachable and smiling as he greeted, chatted, and took photos with several people, including young people and children carrying backpacks.
The images shared on social media show El Micha surrounded by fans in a relaxed atmosphere. Some users highlighted his closeness to the audience and praised that “he hasn't let the fame go to his head,” while others commented that these types of gestures reinforce his connection with everyday people.
In the comments, many agreed on the same point: although El Micha is not as active in Miami, in Cuba he continues to be the most recognized and where people constantly ask him for photos. "Here, he is a star," wrote a user on Instagram. Another commented: "Where he is really recognized is in his homeland."
El Micha had announced days earlier that he would offer a free concert at the Havana Malecón, which created great anticipation among his fans. Read more about the concert announcement here.
On social media, the reaction was immediate. Comments like "that man has a tremendous heart" and "what we need is for him to sing the whole thing and not just half an hour" dominated the discussions. Many are wondering if the concert will be free of censorship and what themes will be included in his repertoire.
For now, the truth is that Micha is already in Cuba, walking the streets and making it clear that, at least in person, he wants to be close to his people.
