The Cuban regime celebrated on Tuesday a collective wedding for military personnel “in honor of the landing of the yacht Granma and the Day of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR).”

The event, a long-standing tradition of the government to romanticize the "revolution," took place at the José Martí Military Technical Institute in Havana and brought together several young soldiers and officers who married "under arms," as reported by the Ministry of the Armed Forces on its Facebook page.

“‼️Wedding under arms at the ITM ‘José Martí’‼️ A collective wedding was held in the context of the 69th anniversary of the landing of the yacht Granma and the Day of the FAR. Congratulations!” wrote Minfar, accompanying the post with photographs of the grooms in uniform surrounded by high-ranking military officials.

The military ceremony coincided with the political event held in Las Coloradas, Niquero, Granma province, where authorities from the Communist Party and the Union of Young Communists commemorated the 69th anniversary of the landing of the yacht Granma.

At that event, membership cards were issued to new members, and the usual patriotic speeches about "unity and revolutionary continuity" were repeated.

The regime also mobilized state transport caravans to transport participants from various municipalities to the event, as reported by CNC TV Granma.

The ostentation contrasted sharply with the dramatic fuel shortages that have brought public transportation across the country to a standstill.

"From the municipal headquarters in Niquero, the caravan with participants in the provincial event for the #69Anniversary of the Granma Yacht Landing sets out," the local TV station reported, while citizens complained about the lack of gasoline even for ambulances and basic services.
