The former spy and coordinator of the CDR Gerardo Hernández Nordelo boasted on social media about the concert of reggaeton artists Charly & Johayron this weekend in Havana.
“Massive concert by Charly and Johayron at Club 500 in Havana, Cuba! The funds raised will be donated to the provinces affected by Hurricane Melissa,” Hernández said on Facebook.
The publication by the former spy has reignited the controversy surrounding the links between popular artists and the Cuban regime.
"Now you really ruined those guys' careers," wrote an internet user sarcastically in Hernández Nordelo's post.

"I already knew they took a long time to come out; it's always the same. Of course, that's why they didn't say anything when they were asked about the situation on the island," commented another.
"And then they're going to sing in Miami," interjected another Cuban.
Help for the affected
At the end of October, the reggaeton artists joined solidarity actions to support families affected by Hurricane Melissa in eastern Cuba.
Through their social media, they shared images of the donation distribution at evacuation centers, where dozens of people still remain who have not been able to return to their homes after the devastation caused by the weather phenomenon.
"Being one of us is not said, it's felt," they wrote in the post, accompanied by a message of support to the victims and words of gratitude to those who contributed to the initiative. "It's the least we can do," the artists expressed.
The aid included food, clothing, and essential items that reached these people thanks to the collaboration of three young individuals, whom the singers expressed their gratitude towards. The images show children and adults receiving the supplies.
The actions of Charly & Johayron were widely praised on social media, where thousands of users highlighted the duo's gesture towards those affected.
