The town of Sagua la Grande in Villa Clara (with a population of 52,516 in 2015) is undergoing a transformation that includes the reopening of the Sagua Hotel with 45 rooms, the renovation of Parque La Libertad, the conversion of the Palacio Arenas Armiñán into a hotel, and the construction of a marina for docking boats in Isabela de Sagua.

The restored Hotel Sagua will be managed by Cubanacán, and although it does not yet have an opening date, the local newspaper Vanguardia has already published a preview of its progress. For now, it is known that a restaurant will be set up on the first floor.

The designers at Emproy VC, alongside workers from Varadero-Cienfuegos and Holguín, are leading the restoration efforts, which include the construction of a swimming pool that the Sagua hotel, inaugurated in 1927, has never had. It will now be built in an area adjacent to its facilities.

The Arenas Armiñán Palace in Sagua is also being remodeled. It is recognized as one of the seven wonders of Villa Clara and is the epitome of art nouveau in the province. Built in 1918, this grand house will be transformed into the Encanto Hotel, managed by Cubanacán.

The renovations in the municipality include the works at La Libertad Park in Sagua, which was declared a National Monument in 2011. New pavement has been installed, and the legendary trees, which had damaged the ground due to lack of maintenance, have been cut down. Additionally, there are plans to reconstruct a pergola and a fountain that were part of the original project, according to Vanguardia.

In addition to these projects, the renovation of iconic cafés such as El Gran Rey, La Casa del Tabaco, Café Cubita, and a luxury bar at the corner of Martí and Colón is also underway. The Enrique González Mántici House of Culture and the Alkázar and Sagua cinemas are also being refurbished.

On its part, in Isabela de Sagua, the construction and assembly of Marina Marlin S.A. is planned, which will rent out boats and feature a storage area, shops, and a reception for tourists. Initially, they are establishing a dock for the docking of a dozen catamarans coming from Cayo Santa María.

The construction of a large dining area for 150 guests is also planned in Cayo Esquivel.

The newspaper Vanguardia does not specify the exact date for all these inaugurations.
