Cubans Rangel Ravelo and Jorge Martínez will return with the Lara Cardinals in the next winter season in Venezuela, according to reported José “Chato” Yépez.

The executive and also coach of the Atlanta Braves affirmed that the two Cubans will repeat their intentions to achieve the championship.

Ravelo has played with Lara since 2015 and has never hit less than .300 in his three seasons: last year he averaged .397 in 38 games.

Matanzas right-hander Jorge Martínez broke hitters last year with a 7-2 record, 2.43 ERA, plus three victories in the postseason. This summer, Martínez went to Serie A1 in Italy and destroyed rivals with a record of 8-1, 1.95 ERA, 84 strikeouts in 73.2 innings, pitching for Unipol Bologna.

Ravelo has once again had a promotion season to the Major Leagues, and the St. Louis Cardinals have not guaranteed him a spot in the September call-up. Ravelo has hit .305 with an average, 33 extra-base hits and 66 RBIs for the Memphis Redbirds during 2018 and a promotion is still expected.
