Most of the Cuban musicians nominated for the 19th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards are already in Las Vegas, where the ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 15.

The ceremony will feature, among other artists from the Caribbean nation, El Septeto Santiaguero alongside the Dominican José Alberto el Canario.

The group is nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards for the album "A mí qué. Tribute to Cuban Classics," which features the famous Dominican salsa artist.

El Septeto Santiaguero has been nominated for the Latin Grammy for the fifth time with this album, which they recently showcased on a tour across the United States.

Cuban artists have posted messages on their various Facebook profiles expressing their satisfaction at being nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards and having the opportunity to participate in the award gala in Las Vegas.

"I feel super happy to receive my nomination medal for the #LATINGRAMMYS2018!" wrote rapper Telmary Díaz, expressing her joy at the arrival of the Cuban delegation on U.S. soil.

For his part, the representative of Septeto Santiaguero, Alden González, posted a photo of the group in Las Vegas on his profile with the message "We have arrived."

Sound engineer Merlín Lorenzo joined in the joy of Cuban artists with a photo alongside troubadour Diego Gutiérrez, nominated in the Best Tropical Fusion category.

"And as if that weren't enough, they awarded Diego his nominee medal and made him a member of the Academy. How impressive!" he remarked.

Havana D'Primera also witnessed their presence in the United States. "We are heading to the Grammys 2018 and on tour in Europe from May 16 to June 30, 2019," the group stated on Facebook.

It seems that all the artists nominated for this edition of the Latin Grammys received their visas to travel to Las Vegas, indicating that the deterioration in diplomatic relations between the governments of Cuba and the United States did not impact the musicians from the Caribbean nation.

This time, there are eight albums by Cuban artists nominated for the 2018 Grammy Awards. They are: Omara Siempre (Omara Portuondo); Cantor de Pueblo (Alexander Abreu & Havana D’ Primera); A Mí Qué – Tributo a los Clásicos Cubanos (José Alberto “El Canario” & El Septeto Santiaguero); Fuerza Arará (Telmary & HabanaSana); Palante el Mambo! (Diego Gutiérrez); Como Anillo al Dedo (Aymée Nuviola); Back to the Sunset (Dafnis Prieto Big Band); and String Quartet No. 3 (In Memoriam Ludwig van Beethoven), from the album Alma con Brío (Yalil Guerra, composer, La Catrina String Quartet, performer).
