Cuban animal activists denounced this Friday that an old man murdered his dog to mandarriazos, in the Havana neighborhood of Miramar.
As reported in the group ofFacebook "Let's help recover pets. Lucy's friends," Internet user Betty Planes, the man held the head of the defenseless animal with his foot and with a tangerine he began to hit it until he fractured all of its bones and it died.
"The little dog did not even have time to react, then he dragged him as if he were a bag of garbage and threw him into a landfill, people like that cannot continue to be immune to justice," the animal activist denounced in her post.
The violent incident began much earlier when the man threw a bucket of cold water at his pet and tried to remove the ticks with a broom, Planes said, and when neighbors asked him why he was doing it, the man threatened to kill the animal.
In the videos published on Facebook, the young people can be seen questioning the man why he carried out such an act and the perpetrator only limited himself to answering "Why do I do what?"
Later he is seen dragging the body to a garbage can and throwing it there.
In the comments to the post, the author reported that they filed a complaint with the organization Cubans in Defense of Animals (CEDA) and this Monday at 8:00 am. They will meet with the witnesses at the police station located in Miramar "to finally find out what measures were taken or will be taken with said person."
Hundreds of forum members commented indignantly on the murder of this dog and expressed their discomfort at the lack of severity of the punishments imposed on animal abusers.
"Unfortunately, only a fine is what they will give him, here there are no severe laws and these cases are severe. This 'gentleman' is a murderer, with all the provisions of the law, and a murderer does not have a fine, he has prison. But although I It hurts a lot to say it, he will only go home with a multica and the poor little animal, for everything he suffered, nothing, nor anyone, will pay for it," someone wrote.
Others agreed that a violent attitude like that could not go unpunished.
At the beginning of this month, Cuban animal activists denounced thepoisoning of a cat colony from the Villa Tortuga hotel in Varadero, Matanzas, selected to be part of the “pet friendly” project.
Previously, the case of aHavana family that committed animal and child abuse, a little dog that would allegedly suffer at the hands of the minor herself, herself a victim of violence within the family.
