A Hialeah public school teacher was accused of trying to have a romantic relationship with a 13-year-old student.
Mohammed Hamza Ahmed, 28, worked at Country Club Middle School in Hialeah until last Monday, when he was fired from the school district after being accused of manipulating, abusing and intimidating a minor.
Hamza Ahmed was arrested on charges of child abuse without great bodily harm, manipulation of a victim and offenses against students by authority figures.
According to the arrest report, to which he had accessLocal 10 News, the man had a "romantic relationship" with a 13-year-old boy at school since September last year.
During this time he organized a birthday party for him at school and gave him several gifts, including a credit card and a congratulations card, which read:
"Thank you for being such an amazing little brother. Meeting you and becoming your big brother is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I hope this year is the best you have yet! I look forward to celebrating a lifetime of birthdays with you. I wish you I love you so much! With lots of love, your big brother, Momo."
Miami-Dade school police detailed that the former teacher, who taught the subject of Civics, had a photo of the boy on his desk. As an authority, he allowed him to skip classes and stay alone with him in his office, let him put on his physical education uniform there, and even sometimes did his math homework.
"Mohammed Ahmed's manipulative actions and behavior towards (the victim) were done knowingly and deliberately, causing mental abuse to (the victim's) well-being," the arrest report said.
Once, when they were in the office, he took off his shirt in front of the minor and forced him to feel his abdominal muscles, then lifted his shirt and asked him to see if he also had abdominal muscles.
On another occasion, he chased him around the empty classroom and then hugged him from behind, while the area of his penis touched the area of the teenager's buttocks, the arrest report states. In addition, she told him many times that she loved him and that he was very sexy.
Amed gave the student a matching beaded bracelet that they both wore and several witnesses claim the teacher had a photo of the boy on the home screen of his cell phone.
Detectives began investigating the incident in January. At that time, the former teacher was changed to a workplace away from the school, and the principal ordered him that he could not have contact with the students, specifically the victim in the investigation.
The former teacher sent a text message to the minor, telling him that he would be asked questions and that he did not need to tell anyone anything.
During the investigation, it was discovered that he had many inappropriate conversations with the boy on various social media and gaming platforms, and described to him how a person should be sexually satisfied.
On his iPhone were a "plethora" of photos of naked teenage boys and teenage boys engaged in sexual acts.
As reportedAmerica TeVe, the victim's father, upon learning that the teacher was calling his son at night through social networks, sent him a message warning him that if he did not stay away from him, he would see him in court.
These events occurred at Country Club High School, located at 18305 NW 75th Place in northwest Miami-Dade.
Detectives also spoke with a former student, who claimed that the former teacher engaged in similar behavior toward him four years ago, letting him skip class and begging him not to get back with his ex-girlfriend.
After being detained, Ahmed refused to speak to the police. He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and released after posting bond.
In a statement, the Miami-Dade school system said they are very concerned about the allegations of inappropriate conduct against the individual.
"Miami-Dade County Public Schools is deeply concerned by allegations of inappropriate conduct against this individual. When the administration was alerted to the claims, they removed him from the school environment. After a thorough investigation by the Miami-Dade County Police Department Miami-Dade Schools, this individual was subsequently arrested.
