A fire at an electronic equipment recycling plant located in Doral kept Miami-Dade firefighters working hard to extinguish the flames.
The incident, which left no one injured, broke out this Thursday in a pile of garbage that included appliances such as refrigerators and microwaves in just half an hour, he explained. Telemundo 51.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue dispatch logs located the fire at the facility located in the 8800 block of Northwest 58th Street.
More than 20 firefighter units were needed to control the fire; Heavy equipment was also brought to the site to separate the debris, a spokesperson told Local 10.
The Doral mayor's office reported the fire on its Twitter account and asked drivers to avoid the area between 58th Street and 87th Avenue westbound.
Although units managed to bring the fire under control relatively quickly, they remained on scene to monitor hot spots and prevent a new fire.
