The agents of theUnited States Border Patrol (USBP) and the Southeast Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) detained a vessel this Saturday for an alleged case of maritime smuggling.
"Officers responded to amaritime smuggling event intercepted near Key Biscayne and found 13 migrants (China, Ecuador, Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic). The event is under investigation," agent Walter N. Slosar said on Twitter.
The brief message is accompanied by a photo of the boat in which the migrants were traveling and which is in the custody of law enforcement in Florida. So far there are no more specific details about this case.
On April 25, a handmade boat, with20 Cuban rafters, arrived in Key West. The USBP indicated that the landing occurred inDry Tortugas National Park.

In total they were41 Cuban rafters who left by sea for the United States and were detained in Bahamas waters.
