Driver is saved from falling from a bridge after a car tire explodes in Holguín

A driver was miraculously saved from falling off a bridge after a tire on his car burst in Holguín.

The event, which left witnesses perplexed, did not cause loss of human life, onlyinjuries and a huge scare for the driver.

A photo shared on the profileFacebook Realities from Holguín shows how the vehicle was practically left with its front part outside the bridge.

"Initially, observers affirm that the explosion in one of the tires of a light car caused the driver to lose control over the direction of the vehicle, invade the opposite lane and hit one of the metal retaining bars of a bridge in the Elevated or Trébol, as the Holguín community knows it," describes the author of the post.

The car was removed from the scene with a crane.

"Luckily, the driver was only injured. At the time we arrived he was being treated at a hospital," he added.

This is not the first time that accidents have occurred on Cuba's bridges, some of which are clearly deteriorating.

In November last year, three people were injured after thepassenger truck in which they were traveling fell from a bridge in Camagüey.

As shared by a witness to the event in the Facebook group "BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS for more experience and fewer victims!", the three injured had to be hospitalized.

The photos showed a covered truck fallen face-on into the undergrowth, with damage especially to the driver's cabin.

In January 2022, in Granma, aalmendrón or old American pickup truck plunged off a bridge into a river, where it ended up overturned.

The car accident that occurred left eight people injured, four slightly and four seriously, one of them life-threatening.

The event happened in the Dos Ríos popular council, in the Jiguaní municipality.

A witness revealed that the car went from the top of the hill backwards until it ended up in the river.
