In itaccident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the "La Farola" Viaduct in Baracoa, province of Guantánamo, between an interprovincial transport bus and a truck, three people were injured with injuries that did not represent a danger to their lives.
“We received three patients, code yellow, with good vital signs, without serious life-threatening injuries,” said the doctor.Frank Antonio Palomares, intensivist at the Municipal Hospital of Baracoa, to the official television stationPrimate Vision.
Regarding the injured, a male patient was confirmed to have a clavicle fracture, while a woman has “a shallow skin injury” and the other patient is reported to have a contusion. All, he clarified, are under observation.
One of the injured commented that she remembers that the bus was tilted after the impact with the truck that, coming from the city of Guantánamo, was transporting chicken for regulated distribution to Baracoa.
“The truck swerved and that's something I can't even remember,” he admitted.
According to the preliminary report of the accident, "the passengers were extracted through the windows" of the vehicle and taken to the municipality of Imías.
Three other passengers from the accident bus were treated at the Ciro Frías Cabrera Polyclinic, in Imías, and were "reported out of danger," according to a publication byEider Milhet Labori, president of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power in Baracoa.
