State car loaded with drinks suffers an accident on the road from Trinidad to Topes de Collantes

A state car loaded with drinks suffered an accident on Saturday on the highway that goes from Trinidad to Topes de Collantes, in Sancti Spíritus.

The car, a Suzuki 4x4 with the letter B on the license plate, overturned on the driver's side and was left with damage to at least the front windshield, according to photos and videos taken by witnesses.

Yasiel Ramos posted several images in the groupFacebook "BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS for more experience and fewer victims!".

"The car went to overtake in the curve and went away," he revealed.

There were no deaths or injuries in the accident.

In the posted video you can see that the car was loaded with Bucanero beers and bottles of soda.

Ramos stated that when he took the photos the driver had already left the vehicle, and that he later went back in to turn it off.

"What they have to do is drive better, because they almost hit me," he said.

The Internet user identified as "Trinidad Cuba" assured that the owner of the car is called Ramón, and the head of security at the Topes de Collantes tourist complex.

"That is the car of Ramón, the head of security at the Topes de Collantes tourist complex and well loaded with beers and soft drinks. He is one of those who is always drunk and falling, I say this from my own experience. That man is irresponsible, one of the unscrupulous people who use their position for a full life and better say nothing more," he stressed.

Many Internet users commented that the driver was the only one responsible, because in the curves he slows down and never overtakes.

"Those are the ones who screw up the lives of the innocent: speeding, alcohol... Thank goodness it was only the car that was screwed up. These are the ones whose license must be taken away and they should never drive again," he said. Julián González Pérez, company chief of the Cuban Fire Department.

At the beginning of the month, aHavana Universal Almacenes harrow that transported imported malt lost control and overturned on a highway in Holguín, with no fatalities reported.

The vehicle, aFreightliner truck with a refrigerated car left the beltway of Holguín, in front of the Ministry of the Interior delegation and caused a "major disaster," according to witnesses.

Although at first it was said that the truck suffered a technical fault, later the authorities blamed the driver of the vehicle for the accident.

The Facebook page "Realidades desde Holguín", linked to the MININT, reported that the driver Yoandry Sánchez Delgado lost control of the tractor for not paying attention to the road.

The publication added that the cargo of Perla Negra malt was lost and that the damage caused to the harrow was significant, and that the accident "could have had catastrophic consequences if it had coincided in time and space with other vehicles or passers-by."

From January to May of this year, at least3,620 traffic accidents in Cuba, with a balance of 290 deaths and 2,807 injured.

Colonel Roberto Rodríguez Fernández, head of the Specialized Traffic Body of the General Directorate of the Police, explained that the figure represents a decrease of 448 accidents, 12 deaths and 198 injuries compared to the same period in 2022.
