The Cuban actorErdwin Fernandez Collado condemned the recruitment of Cuban soldiers by Russia for the war in Ukraine.
Erdwin shared on his wallFacebook several photographs of Cubans, most of them very young, with military uniforms posing proudly in a campaign atmosphere.
"I'm sharing this. I don't know if you knew it or not, but in these times of the Internet everything circulates on the networks. I'm just going to say this: Can we as Cubans fall lower, even lower? What else remains to be seen, to 'find out', to discover? Will a meteorite have to fall on their heads to say: 'Oh, it hurts'?" he questioned.
In the actor's opinion, in Cuba there is a "formula" that has caused this situation: "dictatorship + repression + 0 future + human trafficking + deception + corrupt officials and military + 0 empathy and love for its citizens = that."
On Wednesday, a Cuban nurse who is volunteering her services in Ukraine, addressed harsh words to the mercenaries from her country who have joined the Russian military ranks.
"If the Russians win this war, not only Ukraine will lose, Europe will lose and we will all lose. (...) You don't come to kill criminals here (in Ukraine), you come to kill innocent people.Don't be stupid and don't embarrass Cuba anymore"said Sasha Borrego to the mercenaries in an interview conducted byAmerica.
From the port city of Odessa, the nurse and war correspondent asked the Cubans who have joined the Russian ranks to abandon the mission and enter a program for military deserters from the enemy army in Ukraine.
"The Ukrainian government cowardly has not spoken out, but we do not accept the hackneyed statements of the dictatorship saying that they did not know anything (about the recruitment of Cuban soldiers). We know very clearly that they do command Cubans and continue to command," he said.
Borrego assures that there are 100 Cubans from the military forces known as "black wasps" studying Ukrainian in a town near the border.
The Castro regime denies its direct participation in the war conflict.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared thatThey are not sending young people to the war in Ukraine, and that the MININT works to dismantle a human trafficking network for military recruitment purposes.
Havana announced thearrest of at least 17 people linked to a human trafficking network that operates in Russia and Cuba.
