Cuban father and son accused of bank fraud with fake checks in Miami-Dade


A father and son of Cuban origin appeared in Miami-Dade criminal court accused of participating in afraud to extract fromTruist Bank thousands of dollars through the presentation offake checks.

Both men are charged with grand theft, organized fraud and use of false checks with intent to defraud andface deportation proceedings, due to his immigration status, as specifiedUnivision.

Leovigildo Bosque Viel (59 years old) and his son Emilio Bosque Rodríguez (32) between June and August of this year they carried out fraudulent transactions for thousands of dollars in several branches ofTruist Bank in the countiesMiami-Dade andBroward.

Authorities obtained surveillance videos of at least two withdrawals made at the branch located at 15101 Northwest 67th Avenue, for a total of $11,200.

However, it is estimated that a total of more than $28,000 was the amount of money they exchanged in cash from false checks.

Judge Mindy S. Glazer imposed this Thursdaya bail of 20 thousand dollars.
