Manuel Marrero signs agreements with Belarus to acquire milk, meat, drugs and tractors

During his visit to Minsk, the Cuban prime minister closed strategic agreements with Belarus for the acquisition of food, drugs and agricultural machinery.

Manuel Marrero He advances in his strategic visit to Belarus where he signed agreements that include the provision of milk, meat, drugs and tractors, vital for the Caribbean country in the current crisis.

The Cuban prime minister witnessed the signing of three documents for collaboration in the biotechnology sector: two memoranda and a cooperation agreement, as detailedCubadebate .

The Belarusian proposal expresses an interest in establishing a mixed capital pharmaceutical company, which would be based on the state-owned Academpharm and would have the experience of the Cuban conglomerate, BioCubaFarma.

Vladimir Gusakov, president of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, highlighted his country's willingness to cooperate in different scientific fields with Cuba.

Marrero presided over the introduction into the Belarusian market of theCuban CIMAVAX vaccine Against the lung cancer. In total there will be six pharmaceutical products of Cuban origin available in Belarus.

The Cuban Minister of the Food Industry,Manuel Sobrino Martínez, is in the official delegation and said that there will be joint work with Belarusian companies to diversify and improve the offer of products in the Cuban market, particularly meat and dairy products.

The regime also wants to promote agroindustrial cooperation because the food shortage in Cuba is acute and threatens the stability of the government. In this sense, one of Marrero's missions on the tour is to consolidate avenues in Belarus to acquire modern agricultural machinery.

The MTZ tractor factory was one of the places visited to discuss the bases of a machinery assembly project in Cuba.

It is believed that this measure could reinforce the scope of national production in the area of agriculture, very necessary at this critical moment, when a pound of rice costs hundreds of pesos.

Marrero was in China before traveling to Belarus. In the Asian giant it also closed several collaboration agreements.
