He explains that to hisminor son was hit with a machete for which they had to give him "32 stitches four stitches deep"; and he had to undergo two consecutive operations in the hours following the attack that almost cost him his life.

Lester arrived at the hospital in almost hypovolemic shock, with 2.5 of blood and then was connected to a mechanical ventilator for several weeks. They performed a tracheostomy, he had pneumonia, bacteria, staphylococcus, pseudomonas, and an ulcer or ulcer that delayed his rehabilitation several times.

Likewise, he says that in the midst of so much damage suffered by his body due to the machete blow, the young man does not assimilate the medications: "his small intestine and kidney were paralyzed, he went 15 days without pooping, and at this moment we do not know how the child will turn out," he stressed.

He says that the young man still does not walk. "We put him in a standing position and he tends to let his head fall due to the impact of the machete blow. He has problems in the upper and lower part of his body. Magnets are being placed on his neck to see if the cells regenerate and so that the muscles behind the neck can function.

Although 10 months have passed since the attack, the child still does not walk, nor can he turn over on his own in bed, he lamented.

He also reported that the aggressor's mother showed up at his home to propose that "the child ask that the aggressor be acquitted, and promised, in exchange, to support him financially for life."

The woman also blamed another defendant who hanged himself last year for the incident.

In March 2023, Lester, 16 years old and living in Holguín, was attacked with machetes to steal a Huawey phone.

Weeks later in the town of San Germán, where the assault occurred,Adriano Báster Leyva committed suicide, a young man related to Grass Bermúdez, and whom the victim's family linked to the incident.
