Spanish tourist tries street food in Cuba: "I had never seen a tamale"

The Spanish influencer Jesus Sanchez, known as @jesusansal on TikTok, has captivated thousands of Cubans with his videos about the island's gastronomy, particularly those related to street food in Cuba.

This unique Spanish tourist was visiting Havana in 2023 and was amazed when he tried for the first time some products such as Cuban pizza, guavas, mamoncillos or ground peanut nougat, Creole style.

One of the gastronomic experiences that surprised him the most was the tamale in leaf and the corn fritters. He said he had never seen those dishes in his life.

Jesús liked the tamale, but he thought it was a little dry. The recipe they offered did not leave any Cuban indifferent because in the absence of meat, they combined it with an unusual spoonful of mayonnaise, something that is not usually very common on the island.
