Díaz-Canel gets out of a luxurious car on the Las Tunas highway to say hello

Díaz-Canel visited Delicias, where the family of the kidnapped doctor Assel Herrera Correa lives.

The ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel got out of the car in which he was touring eastern Cuba to greet a group of residents of Las Tunas who had apparently gathered to wait for the procession to pass.

The day before Díaz-Canel toured the town of Delicias, in Puerto Padre, where he would have visited the relatives of one of the kidnapped doctors, Assel Herrera Correa; and the "Antonio Guiteras" feed factory.

Before getting onto the road, the president got out of the truck that was transporting him and approached those present who did not cheer him as on other occasions, they only exclaimed "he got off, son!" They celebrated having seen him because they thought he would travel "in plane" and they fired himwaving hands.

The brief meeting can be seen in a video broadcast by Periódico Cubano.

The president finished hisvisit to Las Tunas, then he passed through Camagüey and this Wednesday he is in Sancti Spíritus.

However, this time he travels in a caravan of luxury vans unlike the previous trips he made in private jet, which generated strong criticism.

The president's tour coincides with the completion of the regime's recent efforts to find out the fate of the Cuban doctors kidnapped in Kenya in 2019 and who supposedly died on February 15 in Somalia after a drone attack by the US Africom command.

Likewise, with the beginning of a package of measures that will affect various sectors of the population, already burdened by growing inflation and poverty.

In the midst of popular discontent, the government has prepared several delegations to receive the president on his tour of the provinces, which began on February 22 in Guantánamo.
