Miami-Dade police and detectives are investigating the discovery of a man's body floating in the southwest canal of that town, according to reportslocal media.
The body was found around 10:30 a.m. in the 9600 block of Southwest 152nd Street, near Jackson South Medical Center and Palmetto Golf Course.
The police recovered the body and are finding out how it got to that place, although it is unknown if they suspect it was a crime or an accident, he says.Local 10.
Last Tuesday, February 28,Authorities found the body of a 35-year-old man floating in the Miami River who had fallen overboard of a boat the previous Saturday.
Miami police confirmed they responded to the scene – near the 300 block of Northwest Second Street – around 10:15 a.m., along with city fire rescue personnel.
According to police, the man, identified as Abraham Mgowano, fell overboard on Saturday around 2:30 pm while traveling as a passenger on a 44-foot rental boat, along with 12 other people.
Immediatelythe man disappeared in the river. A group of divers began the search that same day and personnel from the US Coast Guard joined in these efforts but suspended their part on Saturday night.
Police stressed that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is leading the investigation into the victim's death.
