Emergency technician arrested for sexual assault of patient at medical center in Miami

An emergency medical technician was arrested after sexually assault a patient at the North Shore Medical Center in Miami, last Saturday, according to police reports.

Police officers arrested Anthony Wallace, 31, on Sunday, on a charge of sexual assault, they reported local media.

The alleged incident occurred at the health center, where the defendant works as an emergency medical technician.

The victim reported to police that Wallace asked for a urine sample and when she went into the bathroom, he followed her and closed the door.

In the place, The man grabbed her by the head and forced her to perform oral sex on him, in exchange for painkillers, according to the arrest report.

This Monday, the defendant appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy S. Glazer in bond court.

Wallace faces a charge of second degree sexual assault and the judge set his bail at $10,000, he said. Local 10 News.

Glazer ordered the defendant to stay away from the victim and North Shore Medical Center.

Other cases of sexual assaults committed by health personnel have been reported in Miami. In 2021, authorities charged a nursing assistant with sexual abuse against an 85-year-old man who suffered from dementia and was under his care.

Likewise, Yadiel Pérez Delgado, 34 years old and employee of the Southern Winds psychiatric hospital, in Hialeah, was arrested for sexual assault and sexual misconduct, after being reported by a patient.
