Otheraccident with a rental car for tourism was reported this Thursday in eastern Cuba, where one of those vehiclesIt left the Bayamo-Holguín highway and caught fire.
Andvideo published in the Facebook group “BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS for more experience and fewer victims!” shows the moment whenthe flames consume the car, in the sight of people who were in the place.
“Accident on the Bayamo Holguín highway, near Cauto Cristo, a man leaves the road and catches fire,” said user Aurelio Arturo Gutiérrez Herrero in a post.
In the comments section, he himself reported thatThe occupants of the vehicle, including a child, only suffered blowsand that the cause of the accident wasbad road condition.
Another person also pointed to the deplorable state of the road as the cause of the accident, and suggested that provincial and local authorities deal with the problem.
In another incident that occurred this Thursday,A motorbike was destroyed by flames in the center of the city of Santa Clara. No victims of the incident were reported.
According to a report from the local station, the Villa Clara Fire Department extinguished the fire on Padre Tidurí Street between Máximo Gómez and Juan Bruno Zayas.
This Tuesday, anothercar caught fire on Boyeros Avenue in Havana, in an incident where the column of smoke was quite dense. The driver was unharmed.
Firefighters managed to put out the fire, but the vehicle was completely destroyed, according to images that circulated on social networks.
Although the total numbers of vehicle fires in Cuba are unknown, the authorities have revealed the statistics of electric motorcycles on fire and have warned about thegrowing increase in these events.
In the first half of 2023, more than 300 fires were recorded in vehicles with lithium batteries, which were put out by firefighters. Between 2019 and July of the previous year, 3,000 events of this type were recorded, in which around 200 people died or suffered injuries.
This type of incident continues to leave a trail of destruction and deaths, which keeps the population in constant alarm.
