A Cuban girl who arrived in the United States through the southern border has just received permanent residency in the country.
The video of the moment in which the eight-year-old girl opens the envelope with the official document was broadcast by journalist Daniel Benítez, fromUnivision 23. After the surprise and joy, the first thing she asks is that they tell her father.
"We applied on October 23 and it took approximately four months to arrive," the little girl's father told the journalist.
Father and daughter arrived together in the United States after crossing borders, and upon entering US soil the immigration authorities granted them aparole of 60 days.
"Now the next thing I want to do is cancel the asylum request," the man added.
