Shouting “We don't want a tooth”, the people of Santiago broke the attempts of the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in that territory,Beatriz Johnson Distance, to appease theprotest that has been happening in the provincial capital since this Sunday afternoon.
The leader, who inAt first it had seemed from the roof of a house, was now in the street, surrounded by the crowd that also chanted to applause: “We want food!”
The people of Santiago have taken the central Carretera del Morro, in the capital city, to demand that the government efficiently manage the crisis they are going through., which has plunged the territory, and all of Cuba, into a critical energy situation with prolonged blackouts, which add to food shortages and insecurity.
