Cuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel broke the silence amid the massive protests protests that shake the island this Sunday, and he did so by blaming the blockade for the situation in Cuba.

“Several people have expressed their dissatisfaction with the situation of electrical service and food distribution. The enemies of the Revolution are trying to take advantage of this context, for destabilizing purposes,” Díaz-Canel wrote on his account on X (Twitter) using the same speech with which they try to dismiss the legitimate protests by Cubans.

The president added that alleged terrorists based in the United States are the ones encouraging the protests; However, the images that circulate on the networks are evidence of a town that demands electricity and food.

“In the midst of a blockade that aims to suffocate us, we will continue working in peace to get out of this situation,” he added, once again blaming the blockade for the deplorable situation that Cubans are experiencing amid blackouts of more than 15 hours, lack of food and deficiencies of all kinds.

On the afternoon of this March 17, the people of Santiago de Cuba took to the streets to demand electricity and food, but they were also heard cries of "Homeland and Life".

In Bayamo dozens of people also came out to demonstrate while the regime mobilized special forces to contain the protests.
