Neighbors ofSantiago de Cuba They arrested an allegedthief who snatched a cell phone from a teenager who was at the door of his house, and kept him immobilized until the police arrived.
The events occurred this Friday, as reported in theirsocial networks the independent journalistYosmany Mayeta Labrada, who shared a video of the detained young man surrounded by a crowd of neighbors.
“It's a boy, buddy,” one of the curious people who surrounded the detained young man can be heard saying. According to what was reported by Mayeta Labrada, the events occurred in the Sueño district of the Santiago city.
“A telephone snatcher has been captured by the people on Calle 6, between D and E, Sueño neighborhood, central neighborhood of the city, when he took a teenager's telephone at the door of his own house,” said the journalist.
In the images captured, the young man's state of anxiety can be seen, as well as what appeared to be a blow to one of his eyes, which looked closed. Followers of the independent journalist identified the alleged criminal under the name of Rufino.
Finally, agents from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) arrived at the place where the young man was tied up (apparently the entrance to a house) and took charge of the arrest and investigation of the events.

A video also shared by Mayeta Labrada showed a large number of outraged people who were outside a house where the robber hid, and who were seeking to bring justice to the criminal on their own.
At the beginning of the same month, a Cuban was detained by neighbors and passersby in the municipality of Diez de Octubre, in Havana, while he tried, violently,stealing a high school student's cell phone.
On the same day, but in the Pastorita District of Santiago de Cuba, another group of neighbors arrested an alleged assailant who, in the company of another individual,He tried to rob a woman who was withdrawing cash from an ATM.
According to Mayeta Labrada, a man came to the victim's defense “and was hit by one of the thieves, fell to the ground unconscious and was taken to the Clinical Surgical Hospital.” After the incident, one of the alleged assailants “fled,” but “local residents managed to capture the other.”
