Students demonstrate for the freedom of Cuba at a school in the United States

“Díaz-Canel singa'o”, “Down with communism, up with freedom!”… were other slogans chanted by young people of various nationalities, in the demonstration at Seneca High School, according to videos published on TikTok by a Cuban student at the institution, named Marlon.

“Homeland and Life. I love Cuba, the world has to know what is happening!!! Enough already!!!! Cuba you have to unite and take what belongs to us,” the young man wrote, with the hashtags #patriayvida, #soscuba, #11j, #abajoladictaduracubana, #cubanosporelmundo and #ayudaparacuba.

In the images, a group of teenagers are seen carrying Cuban flags and banners with the phrases “Patria y Vida”, “SOS Cuba”, “Freedom”, among others, and handprints stamped in red, while they move freely through the hallways. of the school, before the eyes of other students and teachers.

“For my country, whatever it is, I want my land free,” Marlon expressed in the comments of one of the videos, which have gone viral on the popular social network. “I will never forget where I come from, I do this for my country, for the people who are no longer here and for a free country.”

In response to comments of support and questions from dozens of his followers, the young man explained that a meeting was held with the director to hold the march, but they also held a talk in front of many people “explaining the things that were happening in Cuba to raise awareness.”

To a comment from a follower about the participation of students from other countries, Marlon responded: “And yes, there are people who do not support it because they simply do not understand it, but in that march there were more than Cubans, I have the best friends in the world. ”.

Dozens of Cubans expressed their support for the young Cuban's initiative and many said they were moved to tears by the images.

A large community of emigrants from Cuba resides in Louisville, Kentucky..
