Lester Garcia Perez, a Cuban who practiced the art of drag, died last Thursday, April 18 in Havana, as reflected by the expressions of respect and dismay at the news, expressed on social networks.
Known as Raquel in drag, her admiration for the music of Cuban performer Lourdes Torres earned her the nickname in her performances.
Although the publications do not specify the cause of his death, in the comments some Internet users claim that he had been ill for some time, including being admitted to the hospital for the last two months.
“How sad to wake up to this news. Fly high my friend with so many beautiful moments. May Yemayá cover you in his mantle. We will never forget you, our dear Raquel,” wrote Facebook user Guillermo Papo.
Also the user of the social network itself, Idorka Otero, assured that the El Sevillano neighborhood, in the Havana municipality of Diez de Octubre, was in mourning.
“I have no words to say goodbye to you and I want to keep these beautiful memories that we spent together, my warrior, my fighter, I just say see you soon, that wherever that light is that illuminates you, we will all arrive sooner or later,” he wrote.
Several videos posted on Facebook reveal the happiness Lester shared with people who appreciated his art.
