HeThe town of Santiago de Cuba captured an alleged drug trafficker after a long chase through the streets of the city.
The independent journalistYosmany Mayeta Labrada shared on his profileFacebook a video in which DTI officers are seen leading the subject in handcuffs, while several curious onlookers watch the scene.
According to what a witness to the event told the reporter, the Police themselves lied to the population saying that the man they were chasing was a thief who had stolen a phone, and then they changed the version and stated that he had stolen a wallet; but nothing was true.
The objective was for people to unite and capture him, since he was fleeing through the streets of the city center and they could not apprehend him.
"The man arrived at Santa Rosa Street and told a man to help him, that the Police were coming after him, but the man did not want to get involved in that. He went into a room and closed the gate and from there he jumped through the roofs and came out onto Princesa Street and that's where the people caught him," explained a resident of the area.
According to this testimony, people began to gather along the streets they passed until the crowd was such that the police entered a house located on Santa Rosa and Corona and - as they say - "the police showed the bale of drugs because "The people wanted to continue beating the man."
The agents stayed with the alleged trafficker in the house waiting for a patrol to arrive.
