For months, Cubans have been denouncing the increase in drug sales on the island, especially "the chemical", which, they claim, "drives youth crazy."

It is a substance mixed with several products that is sold at low prices. The base of this new narcotic is cannabis and it is smoked in cigarettes as if it were simple marijuana.

However, consumers are not sure about its other components, one consumer continued toCubanet that the drug is prepared with epilepsy pills, formaldehyde and anesthesia for animals.

"As I have seen, they put the grass in a tray and put the chemicals in there to dry everything later," he said.

Several consumers told the aforementioned media that: "It is like a burst of energy that fills my entire body with cramps. There is a moment when I only feel my heart beating and my ears getting clogged. Walking quickly causes many of them, but sometimes "I tend to go slow."

The Cuban authorities have shown themselvesconcerned about the increase in the use of this drug in the country.

Hemurder of a two year old girl in the Havana neighborhood of Luyanó last year at the hands of hisstepfather was linked to its consumption, as reported. After this event, several raids have been carried out in Havana to arrest drug traffickers.

Colonel Juan Carlos Poey, Head of the anti-drug division of the Technical Investigations Department, indicated that between October 26 and November 18 of last year, 12 kilos of narcotics and drugs were seized.193 people were arrested for drug trafficking.
