In a publication, after a year of the tragic event, for which Lester has had to undergo several surgeries, medical consultations and hospital admissions, his heroic father, who has accompanied him tirelessly during this time, commented that his son surpassed many of the consequences of that attack, such as the bedsore that appeared on his back, and he no longer needs the mechanical ventilator to breathe.

"We have to continue working on the psychological part so that he is mentally well, since Lester still has not been able to take a step," he lamented.

"Work is being done to strengthen the upper and lower limbs, but deficiencies are seen in the spine so that it has a correct posture to be able to continue seeking the standing position," he added.

Dennis thanked the health workers in the town of San Germán, where he resides, God and everyone who in one way or another had a hand in the teenager's recovery.
