Blackouts continue to rise in Cuba.

The forecast of the Electrical Union (UNE) of Cuba for this Monday predicts for peak hour an availability of 2,139 MW and a maximum demand of 2,950 MW, which represents a deficit of 811 MW.

The announcement implies that, if the expected conditions are maintained, An impact of 881 MW is forecast for peak hour.

The electricity generation deficit on the island has skyrocketed in the last week, going from a forecast of 330 MW of damage last Monday, April 29, to a forecast of 881 MW of blackouts for this Monday, May 6, almost tripling the expected impact figure in just seven days.

In the daily report that reports on the eternal energy crisis in Cuba, the Electrical Union (UNE) revealed this Monday on Facebook that Yesterday the service was affected due to a deficit in generation capacity from 06:34 a.m. and that the disruption to the service has continued throughout the early hours of today.

The maximum impact this Sunday was 746 MW at 8:30 p.m., coinciding with peak hour. The figure is greater than 700 MW of maximum impact that had been predicted for yesterday.

At 7:00 am. Today the availability of the national electroenergy system (SEN) was 2,039 MW and the demand was 2,250 MW, with 250 MW affected by a deficit in generation capacity.

A maximum impact of 450 MW is estimated during daytime hours this Monday.

Unit 5 of the CTE Diez de Octubre, unit 3 of the CTE Santa Cruz, unit 6 of the CTE Renté and unit 2 of the CTE Felton are out of service due to a breakdown.

Unit 1 of the Santa Cruz CTE, unit 6 of the Nuevitas CTE and unit 8 of the Mariel CTE are under maintenance.

In the midst of such a panorama, It is expected that during the morning hours of this Monday, unit 1 of the CTE Felton will go out of service “in a controlled manner” - says the UNE - for maintenance for 25 days.

In other sections, the limitations on thermal generation are 442 MW.

27 distributed generation plants and the Patana de Regla plant are out of service due to fuel, with 268 MW affected in this regard.

The note adds that for this Monday's peak hour it is estimated "the entry of Distributed Generation engines that are awaiting maintenance and their use is authorized with 110 MW, the completion of unit 6 of Energas Jaruco with 30 MW and the entry of Distributed Generation engines that are out of fuel with 100 MW.”
