A word can have different meanings depending on the Spanish-speaking country you are in, reflecting the rich diversity of Spanish. For example, There are numerous linguistic differences between Spain and Cuba, as highlighted by a couple on TikTok, each originally from one of these countries.
With a great sense of humor, this couple, made up of a Cuban man and a Spanish woman, has identified several objects that are named differently in their respective countries.
In one of his latest videos, Isabel (whose TikTok account is @issadeisabel) and her Cuban husband, residents of Miami, presented some of these lexical differences. Among them is "phosphorero", known in Spain as "lighter", and "liquefied gas bullet", which in Spain is called "butane cylinder"..
In another previous video, they addressed the use of the word "knob", which has a very different meaning in Spain.
The couple's followers have really enjoyed this type of content, making it viral on TikTok.
