The spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, Chris Olivarez, reported on the arrest of a group of 19 immigrants and the rescue of two Honduran minors who crossed the border from Mexico without their families.

In a statement posted on , Peru and Venezuela.

Likewise, in that group there were two unaccompanied minors, ages 12 and 14, who were rescued and handed over to the Border Patrol.

Olivarez said that the undocumented immigrants were transported to the Val Verde Temporary Processing Center, in Texas.

He specified that in the context of the controversial Operation Lone Star –which allows the Texas police to detain, imprison and expel migrants to Mexican territory– have been detained in recent days 94 illegal immigrants after crossing the border with Mexico; as well as 474 million lethal doses of fentanyl statewide.

He stressed that the operation will continue to secure the border and protect the people of Texas, which has faced a serious crisis for two years due to the massive arrival of migrants at its borders with Mexico.

A few weeks ago the Supreme Court decided to provisionally allow the entry into force of the SB4 law in Texas, which grants powers to local and state police to arrest undocumented migrants who cross the border.

Many migrants are Central Americans, as well as from Colombia, Venezuela and Cuba. At least 23,000 Cubans arrived in the United States in January in the context of the immigration crisis on the island.
