A security guard was seriously injured during a robbery at the Acuario de Santiago de Cuba.

The injured person is hospitalized at the Military Hospital of Santiago de Cuba.

A Cuban man who worked as a security guard at a Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise located in the Aquarium of Santiago de Cuba was seriously injured during a robbery at the establishment.

The news was initially announced on social media by the journalist Yosmany Mayeta, who shared photos of the area showing the closed street and the cordoned-off area, as well as a significant police presence.

"The place that is on the corner and is an old building painted in blue, in addition to serving as a Freshwater Aquarium, also rents space for a private business which, most likely, was the target of the wrongdoers," Mayeta Labrada pointed out.

Until now, it is unknown what the criminals stole from the place.

Neighbors in the area indicated that the security guard who was the victim of the attack was found tied up and covered in blood.

In the comments section of the post, the internet user identified on social media as "Hechavarria Ari Ariagna" said that the victim is her brother, whom she identified as Jorgen Armando Borrero Palacios, known as "Gallego."

The woman described her brother as "very noble and a good person" who is undergoing surgery at the Military Hospital.

He was badly beaten. We still don't know what they are operating on him for. His condition is serious.The victim's sister specified and requested a prayer chain for her family member.

The complainant also requested that anyone with any information about the events or important data should contact the Police so that they can catch the attackers.

"Please, Santiago de Cuba, let's work together so that events like these do not go unpunished!" pleaded.

In another post on her own Facebook profile, Hechavarria Ari Ariagna specified that her brother lives in Boniato.

He also emphasized that the attackers beat him as they pleased and tied him up as if he were an animal.

"I ask for a chain of prayers for him and please if anyone saw anything, tell the police, this should not go unpunished!" reiterated.
