Unión Eléctrica shares on social media messages from grateful Cubans for their "effort."

Comments on the publication were not long in coming, and, as every day, dozens of Cuban Internet users went to express their true feelings towards the company responsible for the blackouts they are experiencing.

For weeks, the Cuban population has been enduring power outages of more than 12 hours a day, which can reach up to 20 hours, as acknowledged by the leader Miguel Diaz-Canel himself. But the Cuban Electric Union (UNE) decided to thank and share the messages it receives through its social media, sent by grateful Cubans for their "effort".

Through a Facebook post, the state-owned company responsible for the electricity supply in the country decided to counteract the thousands of messages it receives every week from Cuban citizens fed up with its inefficiency, misleading information, and poor service.

"When the grateful people speak, all we can say is: #WeKeepWorking #UnitedForCuba and with one foot out the door. #WeAreAlsoThePeople #WeContinueInCombat #Cuba," stated the UNE on its social media.

As it could not be otherwise, the state socialist company responded to the gratitude with an empty avalanche of slogans and labels that highlight the lack of arguments and ideas of its leaders, starting from its director, Alfredo López Valdés, to the last official of its Communication and Image department.

Congratulations to the workers of UNE and EMCE who, despite all kinds of adversities, were able to carry out the maintenance of the Felton thermoelectric plant for the benefit of all Cubans. "Thank you," said one of the grateful users to UNE.

The workers receive the sincere and grateful recognition and respect from the people. Feel what you are, walk with demonstrated pride. Let's greet each worker with the joy, respect, and admiration they deserve. And let's give them a party. We are Cubans and that's how we celebrate! proclaimed another grateful.

The comments on the publication were not long in coming, and like every day, dozens of Cuban internet users went to express their true feelings towards the company responsible for the blackouts they are suffering.

"But they only post the comments that suit them. Publish the criticisms, I'm sure there are many more," said one of the users. "I imagine that these very positive comments are from their own employees, because they're not from the people. It's true that they work tirelessly and it's acknowledged, but we need results. Otherwise, they continue to make a fool of themselves," pointed out another.

Effort is not advertised, because that is something each of us must do for the simple reason of living in Cuba. Results should be highlighted. If the UNE has to make such a great effort, what will the common people say, excluding Havana, which has all the government benefits?" said another Cuban.

How can one be grateful for inefficiency, impatience, a long-standing problem, a story that repeats itself year after year? The most they could do is ask for forgiveness, but for sure next year we will be in the same situation," another internet user stated.

Truly, the ones responsible for all this collapse are not the workers of the MINEM [Ministry of Energy and Mines]. That must be made very clear. They make those relics work with scraps, they give them the bare minimum of resources. It would be unfair to say that the disaster is their fault," another user concluded.
