Cuban man stabs neighbor to death in Santa Clara.

A new murder adding to the serious wave of violence taking place in Cuba occurred in Santa Clara, where a man fatally stabbed a neighbor.

The victim was identified as Ramón Liván Cuéllar Gallardo, who was 57 years old and lived on Street A, between First and Second, in the La Virginia neighborhood.

The crime occurred last Sunday and the perpetrator confessed to the act. It is a neighbor named Yovany Mondelo, who had a dispute with the deceased a few days earlier.

"He watched him, sneaked into his house, and stabbed him three times. He cold-bloodedly murdered him," crime reporter Niover Licea revealed on Instagram (Nio reporting a crime).

Also, the Facebook group "Disappeared within Cuba, we are your voice!!!" shared a photograph of Mondelo, who is already in the custody of the Police.

Last March, a high official from the Attorney General's Office denied that murders have increased in Cuba and tried to shift the focus towards social media and its ability to provide information with a wider reach.

Beatriz de la Peña La O, head of the Investigation Department of the Criminal Process Directorate, stated that criminal violence, which includes crimes such as murder, homicide, assault, robbery with violence, and sexual assault, has not increased.

According to the prosecutor, there is a false perception that there are more crimes because social networks give greater visibility to events and the number of Internet users has grown.
