A Cuban man is arrested after stealing $100,000 worth of tobacco and alcoholic beverages in Miami-Dade.

The Cuban stole a trailer that was destined for a cruise ship.

A Cuban was arrested in southwest Miami-Dade hours after the robbery of a trailer containing items valued at $100,000.

According to the police report - cited by the local press - on Monday, the theft of a trailer containing products such as tobacco, alcoholic beverages, sunglasses, and clothing was reported.

Before the incident occurred, the trailer and the load were heading to the Crown Princess cruise ship in San Francisco.

Manuel Ángel Pérez-Jacom, 34, was arrested later that day in the area of SW 288th Street and 137th Avenue in Homestead after police found "multiple boxes" with some of the stolen property in a vehicle he was driving.

Pérez was unable to provide any valid documentation explaining his possession of the stolen items.

During the court hearing, his lawyer said that the fact that he had those items did not imply that he had stolen them, something that did not convince Judge Mindy S. Glazer.

The suspect faces a charge of grand theft, with a bond of $7,500; and another charge of trafficking in stolen property, with a bond set at $10,000.

Although the Cuban entered prison, at the time of closing this note, he no longer appears in the TGK jail records.

As of the closing of this note, there are no further details about the case.
