A thief stealing a washing machine in a house in Havana is caught on video.

The affected family is offering a reward to anyone who provides information about the thief.

The surveillance cameras installed in a house in Havana captured a man who entered on Wednesday night and stole a washing machine that was in the backyard.

Danay Zerquera shared the video on her Facebook wall and asked for help to identify the criminal.

"Early this morning, my mother and family in Cuba were victims of a robbery. An individual entered through the neighboring house, climbed over the fence and then over the fence of my house to steal the washing machine," he explained.

Danay announced that she will give a reward to whoever tells her who that man is.

What he least imagined was that he was being watched by cameras. I am making it public so that people are aware of this type of rats, what happened to me could also happen to you, he emphasized.

In the recording, a fairly young man dressed in shorts, a t-shirt, and a cap can be seen breaking the peerless fence of the house before taking the equipment, which he covered with plastic from the rain.

Amid the scarcity affecting Cuba, the increase in crimes is keeping the population on edge. Faced with the inefficiency and neglect of the authorities, some are looking for ways to try to catch criminals by installing surveillance cameras that have allowed the discovery of the wrongdoers' identities while they act in complete impunity.

In April, the surveillance camera placed in the parking lot at I, between 15 and 17, in El Vedado, Havana, recorded a man who allegedly stole some electric motorcycle chargers.

In February, a man was caught trying to steal from a "polaquito" parked on a street in Havana.

The vehicle owner shared two photos of the individual in the Facebook group, who arrived at the place in a Moskvitch.

"Last night [Saturday], this individual who was in this Moskvitch tried to rob me in the car by forcing the locks. Luckily, he couldn't open them, but he stole the gas tank cap. Be alert," he warned.

On January 19th, a man approached a parked tricycle in front of a house in the municipality of Diez de Octubre, Havana, and took several objects from the vehicle's trunk before calmly leaving with the loot.

The robbery was carried out in broad daylight, according to the recording from the camera installed outside the neighboring house.
