The two sons of the renowned former Cuban baseball player Norberto González Miranda, from Cienfuegos, left the country to fulfill their dream of making it to the Major Leagues.

According to the specialized journalist Francys Romero, the children of Norberto, former pitcher of the national team who became an Olympic, Pan American, and world champion, are already in the Dominican Republic.

It is about Andy González, 15 years old, who plays as a third baseman and catcher, and his brother Alex González, 18 years old, a right-handed pitcher.

They will train at Yuan Pino's Academy in Santo Domingo. Both talents possess excellent tools to sign with an MLB organization," Romero pointed out on his Facebook.

At the end of May, it was reported that Ariel Pestano Jr., son of the legendary Cuban catcher Ariel Pestano, requested to leave Cuban baseball definitively.

Pestano Jr., a catcher like his father, and Leandro Turiño, 32 years old, both from the Villa Clara team, officially requested their release. The information was confirmed by Ramón Moré, director of the Leopards' team.

The departure of both players occurred during the National Series, and Pestano said he would remain on the team until the last moment.

Pestano Jr., who made his debut in the National Series in 2018, would meet in the United States with his girlfriend, identified on Instagram as Mary Elizundia, who has been living in that country for some time and works as a model.
