A truck loaded with sand went off the road it was traveling on in Matanzas and ended up embedded against a tree at the edge of the road.
Reports on social media indicated that the events occurred this Friday on the Central Highway, the century-old road that runs through the Island and connects the city of Matanzas with the municipality of Limonar.
Images shared through the Facebook group "Accidentes Buses & Camiones" revealed the condition in which the vehicle was left after the dramatic accident.
According to the user identified on Facebook as Roberto Luis Rodríguez, the accident occurred in the afternoon hours of Friday, and despite its severity, no one lost their life in the incident.
The truck "lost its steering. There are no fatalities," the internet user indicated. At the time of writing this note, neither the official press nor the authorities of Matanzas are providing information about the incident.
