The Forecast Center of the Cuban Meteorology Institute (INSMET) warned this Monday about the possible occurrence of showers, rain, and thunderstorms, especially in the western and central regions of the country, associated with a tropical wave.
The daily report from the government entity informs that "it will be cloudy in much of the country, with showers, rain, and thunderstorms occurring in the west and central regions, where they could become strong, and will be more isolated in the eastern part."
In addition, the report indicates that in the western and central regions, the maximum temperatures will be between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius. In the eastern region, it can reach up to 34 degrees Celsius.
Regarding the winds, they will be light and variable.
The note specified that there will be little wave action on the northeastern coast, from Cape Cruz to Maisí Point, as well as in the south of the Guanahacabibes Peninsula and the Isle of Youth. The sea will be calm on the rest of the coastlines.
However, he warned that in the areas of showers and thunderstorms, the strength of the winds and the height of the waves may increase.
The special municipality of the Isle of Youth woke up this Monday with abundant rains, as reported by the official Islavisión.
"It's raining with wishes," the publication pointed out, accompanied by images showing the precipitation.
In various parts of the territory, precipitation was recorded this Sunday, due to the presence of a trough, as reported in the meteorological report broadcast by Cuban Television.
According to the meteorologist Elier Pila, the highest accumulations occurred in the central and eastern regions of the island.
He mentioned that the weather station in Manzanillo, in the province of Granma, recorded 51 millimeters of precipitation.
The local radio station shared on Facebook some images showing the rain that fell in that area.
In Cuba, it has rained in the last few days. This weekend, for example, in Havana, several municipalities suffered the consequences of flooding due to heavy rainfall.
