Relatives of the renowned Cuban musician and composer Adolfo Guzmán denounce that they suffer leaks in his residence, located in the penthouse of the iconic Focsa building in Havana, where it practically rains more inside than outside.
Laura Padilla Guzmán, one of the granddaughters of the renowned pianist and orchestra conductor, wrote to CiberCuba because she no longer knows who to turn to in order to solve her problem.
He explained that he lives on the 29th floor and is going through a very complicated situation, as the entire ceiling leaks and several pieces have even fallen.
In my house, there live elderly people and two children, and at any moment, a piece falls on them, and no one does anything to solve the problem. The furniture is getting wet, my grandfather's piano, the bust; we can no longer find a place in the house to put things without getting wet," he described.
They have been fixing the roof for eight months, and now it's worse. This situation cannot go on any longer. We asked the building manager to move us from the apartment and keep the penthouse, where I live, and supposedly they gave authorization for it to happen. However, we are still in the same place, and with all this rain, it rains more inside the house than outside," they added.
Laura sent photos to this editorial office showing the living conditions of the family.
Let's see if through this page they finally react and give us a solution," he concluded.
Adolfo Guzmán is considered one of the most important artists of the 20th century in Cuba. In his honor, the Ministry of Culture carried out the popular Adolfo Guzmán Cuban Music Contest for several years, which has since disappeared.
