Three days after the fire at the Girón building in Havana occurred, it was finally revealed this Tuesday that the cause of the incident was a short circuit, according to official information.

Without offering further details and from the social network Facebook, the official journalist Lázaro Manuel Alonso announced the verdict of the Electric Company - the entity in charge of the investigation - while several Internet users alluded to the primary causes of the fire, as the (poor) infrastructure conditions of the building should not be dismissed in this analysis.

The event, which took place on June 22nd, had an immediate response from the city's firefighters, while authorities from the regime closely followed the extinguishing actions. The Municipal Administration Council of Plaza de la Revolución alerted the residents of Havana through a message on social media.

We inform our population that at the moment, firefighters are working to extinguish a fire at the Girón Building, located at Malecón and F," assured from the Facebook profile of that Cuban Government department.

The day after the incident, the government of the territory issued an official statement to detail the situation of the property, a text that left several questions open about the management and lack of transparency surrounding this incident.

The text highlighted the return of residents to their homes, although it did not provide details about the conditions of the apartments or the security in the building, which already showed structural issues.

At that moment, work was being done on the wiring of the wing affected by the fire, while the neighbors had access to drinking water thanks to the technicians' work in enabling the engine.
