A young Cuban veterinarian passed away on Tuesday due to a heart attack in the capital of the country, leaving the community of that sector in mourning.
Fernando Gispert, head of Clinical Services in Ciego de Ávila, reported in an emotional Facebook post the passing of Dr. Adianez Cubeñas, a worker at the Veterinary Clinic of 10 de Octubre.
"Adianez felt unwell around noon, was taken to the hospital and passed away due to a heart attack," he said.
Our entire Veterinary community is dismayed and does not know how to believe such news about a young and beloved doctor. Adianez was characterized by being inquisitive, disciplined, a great professional, and an advocate for Animal Welfare," he emphasized.
The family members of the doctor have also expressed their dismay on social media. Dailin Santana, the deceased's cousin, stated, "I cannot come to terms with the news of your unexpected departure."
"So many things to do, leaving behind a family that loves you, the reasons are not there to understand," he pointed out.
Likewise, several pet owners recognized her work and lamented the loss.
My God, what sad news, the passing of my beautiful dog's vet, a magnificent person who was always willing to help. May God welcome her into his holy kingdom," posted an internet user.
