Héctor Labadí Hierrezuelo, director of a Youth Club in Santiago de Cuba and victim of a recent attack at his home, thanked on Sunday on social media the people who saved his life.
"I take advantage of the morning to first thank God, the young man and neighbor who saved me, my eternal beautiful family, the medical team at the Military Hospital, my wonderful workers and provincial director, and my beautiful friends," wrote Labadí on Facebook, who is recovering after being brutally stabbed a few days ago.
The executive expressed that he has also received countless displays of affection from his friends abroad, "since those damn murderers tried to take my life."
Labadí expressed that he will soon return to his job, walking down Enramadas street, and joking with all the people he meets along the way.
The journalist Yosmany Mayet, who has been following the bloody incident, posted on Facebook this Sunday that the reasons that led to the attack have not yet been clarified, nor is there certainty about the number of people involved.
According to the communicator, the workers at the Joven Club published the first photos of the alleged aggressors, but "left a great deal of doubt, because they had identified as an aggressor a young man who has been living abroad for many months."
"On several occasions, I have contacted the victim to find out firsthand what happened, but he has declined to respond, leaving the questions unanswered," Mayeta said.
Social media has reported various incidents of violence, emphasizing the need for increased security measures in the community.
Last Tuesday, a man cut his partner's face, a young teacher, in the city of Santiago de Cuba. The victim's name is Tatiana Alcolea, she is 24 years old and is the mother of two young children from a previous relationship.
Also, in recent days, a man was murdered on Thursday in a fight in Songo la Maya, a municipality in Santiago de Cuba.
In April, a foreigner was stabbed in the same city, and everything points to robbery as the motive.
