They identify the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the accident in Holguín.

The young man died in the same accident in which a former Cuban baseball player also lost his life.

A young Cuban man identified as Alejandro Oliveros was one of the three deceased in the serious accident that occurred on Saturday night, in which former baseball player Vladimiro Torres, 33 years old, also died.

Oliveros was the one driving the yellow truck that was involved in the accident. The accident left at least three people dead.

"Alejandro was the father of a little girl, a very kind, calm, and hardworking young man, loved by all those who had the pleasure of meeting him, leaving an entire family, neighbors, and friends breathless," wrote activist Irma Broek on her social media, who left a message of condolences for the young man's family and friends.

In the comments section of the post, Darilis Dayro - who identified herself as a cousin of the deceased young man - detailed that as a background to his death, there is a tragic family history, marked first by the death of his own father when he.

He was my cousin, very responsible. His dad passed away at a young age, and he was young too. To top it off, his sister was married and had a baby girl, and suddenly her husband passed away, leaving her a widow like their mother. He had to take care of his sister, his young niece, his mother, and himself. And now life has been cut short for him. Such a sad story since he was young, now look how he left," lamented Dayro.

The latest posts by Alejandro Olivero on Facebook have been filled with double emotion and meaning.

"Thank God for giving me another year of life. May luck and health never leave me," he wrote on October 29, apparently in reference to his birthday.

According to publications on social media, the accident occurred near the ring road of the city, on the Mayarí highway, when for reasons unknown, the truck driven by Alejandro Oliveros collided with the rented bus driven by Vladimiro Torres.

A video circulating on social media shows how Alejandro Oliveros was precisely placed in an ambulance at the scene of the accident.

Several internet users noticed that "nothing with oxygen" was seen nor "anyone resuscitating," even though in the images several witnesses mentioned the seriousness of the injured person, whom the stretcher-bearer tried to check for a pulse in the neck.

So far, the identity of the third deceased has not been disclosed, nor has the exact number of injured or the clinical evolution of the injured, of whom only know that they were transferred to the Vladimir Ilyich Lenin hospital.

In recent days, several traffic accidents have been reported in different provinces of the country, resulting in a high number of fatalities.

In one of the most recent incidents, a young Cuban couple riding a Kawasaki-type motorcycle died on Friday in Cárdenas, Matanzas, after crashing into a tree near the roundabout that borders the city's cemetery.

In another tragedy that also occurred on Friday, a girl died on Ocho Vías, in Havana, when the car in which the child was traveling with her family overturned and caught fire.

A few hours earlier, in the early hours of Thursday, five other people died in an accident that occurred near Playa Santa Lucía, in the city of Camagüey.

This Monday a motorcyclist died on Boyeros Avenue and a woman who was with him was seriously injured, according to reports on social media.
